To be able to continue your studies at the University of Würzburg, you must re-enrol for each new semester within the designated re-enrolment period.
In accordance with the provisions of Bayerisches Hochschulgesetz (Bavarian Higher Education Act, BayHSchG), we will be forced to disenrol you with effect from the end of the current semester if you fail to re-enrol within the re-enrolment period. This means that you will likely lose your place at university if you do not re-enrol in time!
Deadlines and other important information:
To continue your studies in a summer semester, you must re-enrol in January; to continue your studies in a winter semester, you must re-enrol in June/July. The exact re-enrolment deadlines will be communicated in due time via the University's notice boards; in addition they will be published here under the respective semester.

We will re-enrol you once you have paid your semester fees. There are two payment options available. You can either:
- transfer the due amount to the bank account of the University
The advantage of re-enrolling via direct debit (WueStudy) is that you will be re-enrolled immediately. You will also be able to print out your new enrolment certificate and other documents for the new semester immediately.
If you choose to re-enrol via bank transfer, you will not be re-enrolled - and will not be able to print out your documents - until the full amount due has been credited to the account of the University. This will take about four days.
In accordance with the provisions of Bayerisches Hochschulgesetz, we will be forced to disenrol you if your semester fees are not credited to the account of the University before the re-enrolment deadline has passed! This means that the full amount due must be credited to our account on the last day of the re-enrolment period at the latest!
You can check WueStudy to find out if you have already been re-enrolled to continue your studies in the next semester. To do so, click the ‘Student services’ tile on the ‘My portal’ page or go to ‘My studies’ and select ‘Student services’. Once you have done so, go to the ‘Student status’ tab. If the words ‘Re-enrolled for [e. g. summer semester 2019]’ appear in the line directly underneath the tabs bar, you have been successfully re‑enrolled. If those words do not appear yet, this may be due to the fact that we have not received or processed your payment yet. Please wait a few days and check again. If the words still do not appear, please contact Student Affairs. We will then try and resolve the matter.
Information for students in teaching degree programmes who are studying the subject Music:
Students in teaching degree programmes (Lehramt) who are studying the subject Music can choose whether they re-enrol at the University of Würzburg or at the University of Music Würzburg (HfM) first.
If you re-enrol at the University of Würzburg first, you will need to provide proof of your re-enrolment to HfM either in the form of your student ID card (chip card) or by submitting an enrolment certificate issued by the University of Würzburg.
If you re-enrol at HfM first, you will not immediately be able to validate your student ID card (chip card) at the University of Würzburg. You will be required to provide proof of your re-enrolment at HfM before you will be able to validate your student ID card. In order to prove your re-enrolment, you will be required to submit an enrolment certificate issued by HfM to Student Affairs at the University of Würzburg.
If you do not intend to continue your studies at the University of Würzburg in the next semester, please request disenrolment with effect from the end of the current semester.

There is no need to disenrol if you merely want to change to another degree programme in the next semester. In this case, you can simply re-enrol for your current degree programme and then apply for a change of degree programme or subject.

Please bear in mind that you need to observe application deadlines if you want to change to a restricted admission degree programme.
If, in the next semester, you want to take up studies in an additional programme and study for two degrees at the same time, please re-enrol first and then submit an application for permission to study for two degrees at the same time.

The University of Würzburg will send all important information to your student email address (‘stud-mail’). Please remember to check your emails regularly or set up a rule to automatically forward incoming messages to your private email account. To do so, please use the webmail tool. Once you have been re-enrolled, you can print out your official documents for the next semester via SB@Home.
